Design Portfolio

I enjoy creating useful websites. Most of these have been for small, active organisations I've been involved with. Here is a brief rundown of some of sites I've been responsible for. Most recent first.

Get in touch if you would like to me to work on yours.

ImageBreeder

This site was produced to provide a platform for a web-based project for interactive evolutionary art. Users are able to 'breed' abstract designs online then submit them to a gallery for other users to rate.

Birmingham Uni Circus Society

This is an active site that evolved over several years under different enviroments and requirements. It features a custom chat box, events listings and a forum installation. The combination of these elements make this the most active and long running site for a Guild society.

Birmingham Uni Korfball Team

This site was adapted from an existing one. It was already sophisticated enough with administration tools. I gave it a new look and streamlined it, making it easier to navigate and maintain. It shares many of the requirements of the Circus Society page and I was able to adapt and extend several elements from there.

Congress on Evolutionary Computation

A one-off smart design requested for this leading international conference. A key issue here was to make the layout flexible and attractive without causing it to break down hideously on the older browsers which still persist in many parts of the academic environment.

Arco-Iris Samba Band

I wanted a website that reflected the bright and colourful character of this group to the extent of scanning in the drum strap of the band leader to produce the rainbow side banner. The design has been tweaked slightly by but the look remains the same.
